About Dawn Johnson
I am a grants and community development professional who connects regional, national, and international actors to well aligned, impactful work. I am currently the grants administrator at Restavek Freedom in Cincinnati, Ohio. For 19 years, I administered an Integrated Community Services Division at a regional hospital in Haiti. Its multifaceted community services supported community led development and health improvement. My experience in program and project development, grant writing and management, Operations, and project execution gives me familiarity working with nonprofits, independent community groups, coalitions, and other systems. I am keenly interested in mentoring local and regional groups in their own planning and funding of their community development efforts while fully respecting the rights and obligations of fellow stakeholders and funders. I am also an International Development and a water, sanitation and hygiene expert with 20 years’ field-based management experience guiding ‘developing world’ community organizations and the NGOs that assist them as both jointly achieve their development goals.
