The Folk Education Association of America (FEAA), established in 1976 was founded with the mission of advocating and organizing around the Scandinavian concept of the folk school. The FEAA continues its work today and in 2014 created a new project, the Folk School Alliance (FSA). This project seeks to “revitalize the connections between schools,” supporting a new wave of folk school founding through to sustainability, thereby contributing to the health and well-being of communities across North America.
