About Dawn Devaney Gammon

I’m an optometrist with 30 years of clinical experience, including 17 years as a private practice owner. I’ve spent most of my career in the day-to-day reality of patient care, team leadership, and running a business. I’ve always been interested in how all of those pieces actually work together.I’ve been most energized by roles that sit at the intersection of clinical insight, optical, brand, and consumer experience. I like thinking about how care is delivered, how products are presented, and how people experience an organization as a whole—not just the exam, but everything around it.My background includes long-term practice ownership, clinical education, operational decision-making, mentoring clinicians and staff, and working closely with optical partners and vendors. I’m especially drawn to non-clinical and hybrid roles where I can contribute through education, brand or product collaboration, care-model design, and broader healthcare or optical strategy.I’m currently practicing with AEG Vision, and I’m also completing a Fashion Business Management certification through eCornell. That work has been a useful way to think differently about consumer behavior, design, and brand, and how those ideas translate into healthcare and optical spaces.I’m also interested in applying clinical experience to roles involving medical content review, healthcare technology, and patient-care safety outside of traditional exam-room work.
