About John Davis

Our goal for clients is to have them buy as little insurance as possible, so that costs are minimized. Rather than simply functioning as \'order takers\' and\' getting quotes\', we analyze how much risk an employer can retain and how much needs to be transferred to an insurance carrier, thereby developing a customized plan that \'fits\' each company\'s unique needs. We use several Wellness programs and electronic data collection to validate the direction for employers to take in measuring and managing risk. We design, bid, implement and communicate employee benefit plans for companies, including all types of group insurance products, as well as personal life and disability insurance. Background: I have been in the insurance business for over 35 years and I strive to be the best I can be in my profession. In 1990 I launched JMD Group to focus on employee benefits, as I did not want to open up just another insurance agency. I wanted to build a business that others would come to recognize and rely upon for its unique commitment to client advocacy, creative business solutions and peace of mind for our customers. While the years have brought several national industry awards and recognition, it’s the clients that have stayed with me through the years that mean the most. I am a Chattanooga native. I grew up on Signal Mountain and lived there while our three children were young, but my wife Karen and I recently relocated to Lakesite. We attend First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee where I serve as a deacon.I\'ve served on several boards, do fundraising and am a member of Downtown Rotary. I\'m a scuba diving instructor and shoot underwater photography, and also enjoy various types of hunting and shooting.
