An ideal day at work for me includes sharing information, solving issues, and integrating technical solutions by working with customers, sales teams, prospects, partners, and co-workers. I enjoy interactions with diverse people, learning about applications, serving as the point of contact, analyzing issues, preparing product options, collaborating with engineering teams, reviewing design deliverables, and contributing to lasting solutions.Providing ongoing equipment support has expanded my technical proficiency, and I enjoy learning. My mechanical engineering enthusiasm started as a youngster taking apart products to learn about their design and how they worked. I also enjoyed the feeling of success when I was able to return the equipment to working order.After graduating as a mechanical design engineer, I was lucky to get employed at Boeing as a design engineer. Later in my career, I expanded my skills by shifting into an application engineer role, where I shared technical information with customers, sales teams, and co-workers.As I mastered communicating technical information, I began understanding business strategies and served as a liaison bridging business goals with product development. I then took a product manager role to expand my knowledge of product development, lifecycles, portfolio planning, market analysis, sales processes, and marketing campaigns. While product mechanics are fascinating, I understand the importance of nurturing lasting relationships. Contributing in organizations at both the strategic and tactical levels is one of the best ways to solve problems and build lasting relationships.It’s rewarding to build rapport with diverse people, learn about applications and innovations, understand complex challenges, create solutions, and contribute to viable outcomes.
