ABOUT DAVID WIMPRESS

Following 30 years as an HR Director with Motorola, ICL and De La Rue Plc I was given the opportunity to develop my career in business management.As Chief Executive of ICL Autonomous Businesses I led a group comprising nine companies engaged in software development, consultancy, IT services, facilities management and training. I was founding Chairman of Workplace Technologies, Workplace Management, Peritas and Knowledgepool Global. In 1997 I was appointed by the incoming New Labour Government as Executive Chairman of UK NetYear, a public/private partnership whose aim was to encourage schools to connect to the Internet. I contributed to the now famous Tony Blair \'Education, Education, Education\' speech.From 1992 to 2001 I was heavily involved in mergers, acquisitions, disposals and business building.In 2001 I retired early and took over Netmedia UK which I eventually sold and the business is now the UK arm of Norwegian company It\'s Learning.My life now revolves around playing golf three times a week, motor cruising from Poole Harbour and following AFC Bournemouth where I am a Life Vice President.
