1. Acting Chief Communications Officer and Senior National Security Spokesperson

   I currently serve as U.S. CENTCOM\'s senior civilian public affairs specialist, exercises supervisory and managerial authorities over the Public Affairs office, and serves as the senior spokesperson. Directly responsible for all public information, media relations and operations of U.S. CENTCOM, with broad authority to determine and execute courses of action, with either prior or subsequent consultation, according to the requirements of the situation. As Deputy Director, Public Affairs, I provide oversight and direction, and work directly with national and international news media on coverage of combatant command operations and force structure changes. I serve as the primary liaison with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense - Public Affairs, Joint Staff Public Affairs, five componant commands, three command centers, and other Department of Defense (DoD) and interagency offices. I assume all responsibilities to conduct public affairs activities and decisions in the director\'s absense. I also provide public affairs councel to the Commander, U.S. CENTCOM, supervise a staff of 45, and manage day-to-day public affairs staff activities, acting as a principal liaison with external agencies.
