   As Director of Risk within the Data Management Advisory (DMA) function, I provide second line oversight of Retail Bank and Small Business Banking (SBB) data management risks. I partner closely with the business to assess, challenge, and influence the effectiveness of their data governance practices and risk mitigation strategies. • Oversee data risk management for Retail and SBB, ensuring alignment to enterprise policy, control standards, and regulatory expectations. • Provide independent challenge across key data areas such as registration, metadata management, critical data identification, and remediation sustainability. • Deliver and contribute to risk reporting and governance forums by synthesizing trends, identifying emerging concerns, and communicating the strength and weaknesses of data control suites. • Engage in cyclical and event-driven risk activities including control assessments, risk control self-assessments (RCSA), issue reviews, and cross-functional governance routines. • Act as a strategic partner to divisional risk leaders, helping to shape data management narratives, escalate risk appropriately, and influence positive change in data practices and outcomes.My focus is on delivering trusted, proactive second line risk advisory that drives accountability, transparency, and maturity in how data is managed across Retail and SBB.
