About David Vanderpool
David leads Deloitte\'s Model Based Enterprise and Digital Thread capabilities for Industrial Products and Aerospace & Defense where he helps clients improve the efficiency and effectiveness of end-to-end product development from concept and engineering through supply chain, operations and service. He helps his clients improve various value drivers including: dramatically reduce the time to develop and launch new products, increase output per level of spend, reduce scrap and material spend, reduce inefficiencies, improve quality, improve margins and establish an organization of continuous improvement.Specifically, David has led teams of 5 to 100+ on some of the largest transformation projects with our clients, including- Developing corporate R&D, Product Development and Supply Chain strategies and, most importantly, working with clients to actually implement the strategies including process redesign, organizational transformations, and technology implementations- Redesigning processes and developing capabilities including Product Portfolio Management, NPI Stage Gates, Product Cost Management, Design-for-Value (Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Supply Chain, Design for the Aftermarket), Lean Engineering, Configuration Management, Change Control, Requirements Management, Systems Engineering, Bill of Material Management, Product Compliance Management, and Project and Resource Management- Implementing technology to enable business transformations including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions such as Siemens, Oracle, SAP, Dassault Systemes and PTC.Additionally, David co-leads Deloitte\'s Supply Chain Robotics and Intelligent Automation (including Robotic Process Automation, RPA) practice He also leads Deloitte MBE/Digital Thread managed services capabilities, enabling clients to leverage the latest Digital Thread technologies \"as a service\" vs. a traditional consulting model.
