ABOUT DAVID TOWNEND
I am an academic lawyer - I studied Law at University and have spent my career teaching and researching in the Universities of Sheffield (UK), Maastricht (NL) and now at The City Law School at City St George’s, University of London. My main interests are in the construction and operation of the concepts of privacy and property in law and society. I study these broad themes in the areas of health and modern life sciences and data science. My current work is about medical research using genetic information and biobanking, about the governance of health and life science research, and about rights and duties in relation to health care. I am also Associate Dean for research and innovation.
