About David Straus
After selling my company to Amazon in 2008, I spent over three years leading the LA division of IMDb. In 2013, with my partners of 20 years, I co-founded Critical Mass Studios, Inc.(CMS) to tackle rights- and asset-management solutions within the film and television industry. One of the things I love most about building companies is creating opportunities for our customers, my team, and our shareholders. My belief is that a healthy company focuses on empowering their internal team to be the best most fulfilled, listened to and respected they can be. The result of such a culture will ultimately contribute to more sales and more value being created by the company for both the customer and the shareholder. In 2008 entrepreneurs and business executives within established corporations and organizations started to approach me and ask for coaching on how to attain their own business objectives, to that end, from time to time, I coach C-Suite executives and groups in Fortune 500 companies as well as founders of young start-ups. Additionally, through Reason Ventures LLC, I occasionally invest in Social Entrepreneurs as well. Finding and constantly minding the integration between company advancement, customer experience, team engagement, and team empowerment is the core of my leadership worldview.Specialties: Team Building, Biz Dev, Creative and Self Distribution for Film and Video, Negotiating Content Deals, Conflict Resolution, Co-Active Coaching.
