ABOUT DAVIDSON SABU MENG AIMMM
Lead Fusion Technologist at UKAEA. Working in the Fusion Technology Division with primary focus on developing low technology readiness level (TRL) innovative solutions to manufacturing and materials challenges in Fusion. Working on addressing manufacturing problems for the STEP fusion powerplant. Managing > £250k International R&D projects.Based in Fusion Technology Facility in Yorkshire on the Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) as part of our satellite site from the main site in Culham, Oxfordshire. Our primary goal in Yorkshire, to bridge the gap between research and industry, inviting small-to-medium size businesses to be supporting Fusion with their unique technologies and engaging the supply chain for novel materials processing, post-processing and joining.Completed 6-month secondment to STEP Commercial Pathway team, assisting with setting up of UKIFS Ltd and Full Business Case for STEP Tranche 2a. Whilst also lead engineer for graduate project in MAST-U EBW team.My role involves collaborating with International partners across Industry & Academia for progression of low TRL methods which have a use case in Fusion.
