ABOUT DAVID SEAGER
VFX Supervisor David Seager joined Industrial Light & Magic’s Vancouver studio in 2017, bringing visual effects leadership experience in Feature-Film & TV. David grew up in Indiana USA, where he received a Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He later moved to South Carolina to earn a Master\'s degree in the same field from Clemson University. Shortly after graduation, David joined Square USA to pursue a career in visual effects on the ground-breaking feature film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Over the next 20+ years, David worked with Centropolis FX, Sony Pictures Imageworks, The Moving Picture Company, and Industrial Light & Magic on over 28 films and streaming projects. He has worked as a supervisor in visual effects since starting as a lighting supervisor before moving on to the roles of CG supervisor, digital effects supervisor, and finally as a visual effects supervisor. As a multi-faceted post-production professional, David’s career has also spanned roles including pipeline engineering, shader writing, project bidding, client interaction, post-production team supervision, and on-set VFX supervision. In 2020, David was honored to join the visual effects branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Since 2012, David has lived in Vancouver with his wife and three sons.
