Mr. Walsh has a broad-based skill set that allows him to work in coastal, estuarine and oceanic environments, where he designs and manages metocean measurement campaigns. His educational background and graduate research was specifically focused on marine, coastal, and estuarine sedimentology, but his subsequent 20+ years of work experience built expertise in offshore operations, technology, and QHSE practices. Presently Mr. Walsh serves as Leader for the Woods Hole Group Offshore Metocean Monitoring Systems Team, which specializes in field oceanography, data collection, and dissemination. In this role, he has acted as Project Manager or Field Party Chief for numerous data collection programs, and is responsible for the successful logistical planning and data acquisition from instrumentation deployed both locally and globally. Mr. Walsh is adept in coastal and deep-water mooring system set-ups, deployment techniques, field operations logistics, efficiency, safety, and shipboard deck operations.
