ABOUT DAVID NICHOLSON

With over thirty-five years of experience in the Information Technology industry, I have extensive knowledge of the wide variety of technologies available within this field. I have detailed knowledge related to the areas of software development, web site development, hardware and software technologies – including financial information systems, and how to procure these products. My focus has always been to explore how information technology can be used to benefit the organization. With a strong background in business and management, I have an excellent understating of the issues and concerns related to management of the organization. I have the ability to understand the problems and find solutions to the issues, using the various technologies that are available. I have always been very interested and excited by the possibilities available with technology. My focus has been, and continues to be, on keeping abreast of the changes taking place in the IT field and how the new technologies can be used to make organizations more efficient and profitable. Having worked in the consulting field for the majority of my career, I have been fortunate to have been immersed in a wide variety of types of organizations, types of information systems, and the numerous applications of IT to systems. I am now able to bring this vast level of knowledge to bear on new situations in new industries and situations. I have also been the owner and manager of my own successful Information Technology consulting firm for over 32 years. This experience has made me very aware of the environment in which businesses must operate today. Before forming Nicom, I worked for major system consulting companies starting as a computer programmer and eventually becoming a project manager with Systemhouse, now EDS.
