A former NFL and All-Big Ten student-athlete, David Gilreath now serves as the Director of Advancement at Notre Dame Belmont, where he leads fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships that support the school’s mission of empowering young women to lead with confidence in science, sports, and beyond.Prior to Notre Dame Belmont, Gilreath served in the University of California–Berkeley athletic department as the Associate Director for Development, helping drive support for non-revenue generating sports and contributing to major fundraising campaigns. Before Cal, he worked with the Minnesota Timberwolves in business development, and he began his advancement career at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin–Madison.Gilreath spent four seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks. Along the way, he gained off-field experience with ESPN Madison, NFL Network, and international business ventures in Hong Kong and Switzerland.A Minneapolis native, Gilreath earned his B.S. in Community and Nonprofit Leadership from Wisconsin and his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He left Wisconsin as the Big Ten’s all-time leading kick returner and a member of the 2010 Big Ten Championship team. He has traveled to 37 countries and continues to balance his passions for family, fitness, and philanthropy.
