I’m a scientist-founder working at the intersection of biotechnology, materials science, and AI for science. As Co-Founder, CTO, and CPO of Bolt Threads, I’ve led the translation of recombinant protein materials from lab concept to industrial-scale biomanufacturing—spanning sequence design, strain engineering, process optimization, and consumer applications.My current focus is on building data-driven design engines for protein materials, linking sequence–structure–property relationships to mechanical, optical, and surface properties. This work combines machine learning, molecular modeling, and high-throughput experimental datasets to accelerate materials discovery.Beyond Bolt, I’ve advised emerging teams at Alphabet’s X, Arcaea, and many startups, helping founders translate deep-science innovation into scalable platforms.I’m driven by a vision of AI-accelerated discovery — where biological and physical systems become programmable domains for creativity, engineering, and impact.
