About David Namnath
Registered Nurse in critical care that likes to be involved in social missions aimed at creating a more inclusive nursing workforce while humanizing care for all of my patients. My first career was in biochemistry. I earned my BS in Biochemistry at Cal Poly SLO (\'15), walked on and then earned a Division I athletic scholarship, and served as the captain of the track team. I am a published author (Cell Metabolism) and have worked benchside to investigate neurobiochemistry and cancer metabolism at UCSF and the University of Utah. After three years of academia, I pivoted to a career in nursing. In four years, I completed my prerequisites, earned an associate degree in nursing (\'21) and finished my BSN at Sonoma State University (’22) all with a 4.0 GPA. I landed my first nursing job in Oakland, CA, as a Staff RN at Alta Bates Summit Medical ICU in November 2021, which served as my foundation for critical care. I have since moved to Los Angeles, and am a staff nurse for UCLA\'s Cardiothoracic ICU. I am a nationally certified critical care nurse (CCRN) and am specifically certified in cardiac surgery critical care (CSC). I am a proud second-generation Thai American, and enjoy running, lifting, cooking, and music, formerly a Jazz trumpet player.
