As the founding College and Career advisor of Blackstone Valley Prep High School, in addition to initially teaching coding courses, I developed into a full time Dean of College and Career and have quadrupled the size of the College and Career advising team over the past four years. I now oversee two full-time college and career advisors as well as an Americacorps member from the Swearer Center at Brown University. Over the past four years, I have led this division of the high school to:A 90% and above graduation rateTop 5 statewide in FAFSA completions (greater than 75%)Ensured all students applied to and were accepted to at least one collegeTwo out of the last three graduating classes saw Ivy League acceptancesTwo out of the last three graduating classes had Questbridge finalistsCoordinated and led three nationally recognized College Signing Day eventsDeveloped and implemented personalized systems such as mentoring and workshops to reach more students and begin the college and career planning process in 8th gradeCoordinated with community organizations to provide financial aid, FAFSA and college essay writing workshops to students and their families#BVPHighSchool
