About David McTiernan
I live and breathe music — and as an energetic, progressive, and creative leader in the industry, I bring a deep-rooted passion for artists and their craft to everything I and my team do. Over three decades, I’ve built a diverse skill set from production and performance to marketing and management. I’ve worked national publicity campaigns for Bruce Springsteen and Zac Brown Band and learned to cook with Troye Sivan — I’ve strolled a DTLA rooftop at golden hour with Ice Cube and performed onstage at the Kennedy Center. I’ve designed and sold all kinds of merch, worked on-the-ground festival coverage, and presented at universities and conferences across the US; and my Vevo team and I have spent years bringing entire worlds to life from the minds of Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, The Weeknd, and J Balvin to name a few. As Head of Artist & Label Relations, I lead the team that works every day to support, educate, and elevate talent of all genres, levels, and backgrounds. We onboard hundreds of artists to Vevo each year, always with the goal of maximizing the exposure and revenue for everything they create. And while our work runs the gamut from brand new signings to superstars, it’s artist development that remains at the heart of what we do. I’ve led the curation of our DSCVR and Artists to Watch programs for over eight years, and from Maggie Rogers to Omar Apollo to Chappell Roan, we’ve given hundreds of today’s most exciting new artists a platform and a stage to reach a whole world of new fans.
