ABOUT DAVID WOOD

As Innovation Manager at SUEZ UK, I help UK organisations prevent or minimise waste, cut cost and greenhouse gas emissions, and build resilient, compliant operations. I design and deliver customer-led solutions, spanning strategy, pilot design, and scale-up, that turn end-of-use and or end-of-life products and material streams into valuable resources for the UK circular economy. I bring operations, data and partnerships together to deliver measurable outcomes: lower disposal costs, higher material recovery rates, reduced Scope 3 emissions, and new circular revenue models. Current focus areas include policy readiness (tEPR, Simpler Recycling, DRS, Plastic Packaging Tax), data-driven resource optimisation, reuse/remanufacture and take-back models, and behaviour change and change management to embed new practices.From a personal perspective i\'m a dad of two teenagers who amaze me everyday and i\'m really passionate about volunteering in my community having been both a Scout Leader (20••••24) and current honorary member and former Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer for Saddleworth Round Table (RT558), helping to raise over £500k for good causes and local community groups, sports teams, Mountain Rescue and too many brass bands to mention - we are in Saddleworth after all IYKYK!Specialties: Circular Economy Strategy and Resource Efficiency, Material Recovery and Recycling (plastics, organics, textiles, critical materials), Data-Driven Operations and Analytics, Business Model Innovation (reuse, remanufacture, take-back, product-as-a-service), Policy and Compliance: EPR, DRS, Plastic Packaging Tax, Net Zero/ESG, Behaviour Change, Change Management, Business Readiness, Benefits Realisation, Pilot Design, Commercial Modelling and Scale-up, Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships.
