About David Martinez Mejia
Industry Background: I am currently working as scientist producing enzyme and antibody based immunoassays in large scale for Ark Diagnostics. This role has been an exciting venture to learn about protein and antibody reactions and how these reactions can be used to produce products that can detect drug concentrations in patient samples with precision and accuracy. Ark Diagnostics is a leader in this technology and provides immunoassays for drugs used in clinical treatments as well as for detecting drugs of abuse in work or government settings. Preparing these products and their respective calibrators and controls requires great attention to detail, preparation, and understanding of modern clinical chemistry analyzers. Research Background: I have spent my undergraduate career focusing on systems physiology, which greatly covered the systems of the human body and their functions to the cellular level. I joined the Wilkinson Neurophysiology research lab and grew very passionate about our work and research on muscle spindles, neurotransmitters, and electrophysiology. I am currently pursing a Master\'s Degree in in Physiology in the Wilkinson lab and am very excited to learn new advanced research techniques in these next two years.
