Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Talent Acquisition Supervisor for the largest District by Employee size, and Geographical size responsible for supervising the Talent Acquisition function and leading a team of Human Resources professionals. I provide management and oversight of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding with a goal to improve alignment and quality of hire to enhance candidate experience to the Hampton Roads District that maintains and supports a complex network of bridges, tunnels, ferries, interstate highways, and state primary and secondary roads enabling reliable, safe travel and flow of commerce throughout the region.• Meet with the District Engineer, Deputy District Engineer, Deputy District Administrator, and Human Resource Manager weekly to approve requested positions for recruitment based on the Maximum Employee List (MEL) and prioritize critical business challenges• Lead a Talent Acquisition Team and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent aligned with our organizational values• Responsible for collaborating with multiple facilities that cover nine counties, 11 cities, and two islands. Together this covers 4,125 square miles, border the state of NC, MD and is home to 1.8 million people• Partner with leadership to forecast talent needs• Currently deploy talent and development programs and work with several state, local, federal government, and private sector for engagement efforts• Draft job descriptions with Hiring Managers using the Department of Human Resources Management (DHRM) state job descriptions• Develop key metrics to measure effectiveness of talent process• Ability to leverage technology to drive effective talent process• Utilize the National Medical Service (NMS) for Physicals, Drug Screening during the onboarding process for Commercial Driver License and United States Coast Guard• Utilize the Federal Clearinghouse for all Commercial Driver License. additional experience represented through resume
