I chaired the charity through its inception and growth phase, planning current objectives, establishing a “Good Health through Sports” curriculum in Lesotho and achieving multiple accolades within the sport-for-development sector.Achieved transition to a sustainable model through the development of several successful social enterprise initiatives, including an internationally renowned restaurant, hotel and conference facility and the world’s first top-tier football club dedicated to social changeGained international plaudits and press attention for becoming the first top-tier football club to commit to equal budgets for its men’s and women’s teams, and winning the prestigious Laureus Sport for Good Award in 2025.In 2024 I supported the charity to develop a twinning partnership with Wrexham AFC

ABOUT DAVE LIGHT

I am motivated by social justice and love working for person-centred organisations that strive to make life better for disadvantaged and marginalised communities. I’m an ambitious Senior Leader with first class communication skills and a proven track record of implementing organisational change. I have consistently devised and driven strategies to improve efficiency, increase engagement, and maximise impact for beneficiaries. With a background in teaching, I use my passion for learning to coach and motivate teams to succeed.As a passionate believer in social change, I have helped to establish and grow two award winning not for profit organisations, and continue to volunteer my skills and experiences to support them to develop.I have extensive experience across the Third Sector both in the UK and internationally. As Head of Volunteering and Community Networks at the MS Society leading a national team to support and develop over 900 community based services across the UK, I initiated programmes of work that increased social connection and improved outcomes for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.I\'m a founding trustee of Kick4Life, an award winning sport for development NGO based in Lesotho which uses the power of sport to inspire and empower under-privileged youth. I was Chair of Trustees from 2005 to 2015 and still serve on the UK board of trustees. I started my career as a Secondary School Teacher and was Head of History at the Kings School in Fair Oak from 2001 to 2007. I was responsible for developing curriculums in both the History and English departments and also taught PE, drama and ICT among other subjects. I am currently working at the University of Southampton delivering their Social Impact Lab supporting students to develop social initiatives that address UN Sustainable Development Goals.My specialist skills include: leadership and strategic development, transformation and change management, service and community development, comms & engagement, teaching & coaching, presenting, fundraising, and volunteer management.
