ABOUT DAVID L. FILER

I\'m a former prosecutor who now has a general law practice working with individuals and businesses. I have a record of obtaining positive outcomes for clients. I focus on divorce mediation and collaborative divorce as a way to help divorcing couples find a better, more peaceful way to divorce and to move on positively with their lives. As a mediator, I am a compassionate and understanding neutral who can help couples navigate the often stressful divorce process. In addition, our local law practice has expertise in real estate, land use, and zoning on Eastern Long Island. Our law offices are in Amagansett, but we have clients in the entire \"Hamptons\" region, including Montauk, East Hampton, Springs, Wainscott, Sagaponack, Southampton, and Sag Harbor. We help clients buy and sell real estate efficiently; we also assist clients in navigating the highly regulated land use and zoning environment on the South Fork. Because of my time as a prosecutor, I have extensive experience in problem-solving and conflict-resolution in fast-paced environments as well as highly developed interviewing, critical thinking, and negotiation skills. With 16 years as a Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, I am a very experienced legal and law enforcement professional skilled in conflicts and their resolution; investigations; trial preparation; and mediation.
