ABOUT DAVID KEMP

I am a Masterplanner and Town Planner at Marrons. We are Architects, Masterplanners and Urban Designers working across the UK. I have a passion for urban design, architecture and shaping policy to create great places. I believe that a strong vision for a place is critical to steer future policy and development and pride myself on my ability to collaborate to deliver these visions.I am experienced in working alongside client teams to achieve their objectives using my project management skills to lead teams of consultants to deliver complex projects. This includes engaging with local people and collaborating with Council officers and politicians to seek buy-in for projects.I been employed by Marrons since May 2025 having previously worked in private practice at Cass Design Consultants and Spawforths for 15 years and, before that, for the public sector at Sheffield City Council in their Housing Market Renewal team for 3 years.I have led teams to secure the allocation of sites including Strategic Mixed Use Urban Extensions, delivered a number of significant Masterplan Frameworks and Design Codes throughout the England. I enjoy creating visions for new places to inspire the delivery of environments for people to live, work and play within. I recognise the financial, social and political pressures that shape the places where we live and strive to create the best places for all involved.My team specialise in the delivery of outstanding places. We guide our clients through the design and planning process including the identification of potential sites, creation of concepts and visions for a place, engaging with Council\'s, securing site allocations through the preparation of Delivery Frameworks and Examination in Public and preparing Masterplan Frameworks, Design and Access Statements, Design Codes and Planning Applications and Building for Healthy Life Assessments.
