ABOUT DAVID WHITE

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche, I spent a decade working in the financial services sector before deciding to switch to a new career aligned to my keen interest in combatting climate change and subsequently completed an MSc in Renewable Energy and the Built Environment (Distinction) at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Following this, I took up a role with Bristol City Council where I progressed to leading the Council\'s Energy Service and City Leap programme. Following the conclusion of the City Leap programme in January 2023, I transferred to the Bristol City Leap joint venture, alongside the Energy Service team, to become its Operations Director. I was recently nominated for the Net Zero Energy Pioneer Award at The Green Energy Awards for my work on Bristol City Leap.Having overseen the transition and integration of the team and the set-up of the joint venture, I left Bristol City Leap in April 2024 and am now working as a consultant/advisor to support the rapid achievement of net zero. With a unique set of experience and skills and an extensive track record of delivering high impact and complex net zero projects and strategies in a local authority/public sector environment, I am skilled in leadership, strategic thinking, financial appraisal and communicating complex technical topics to key stakeholders and non-expert audiences.
