Charity Trustee & Marketer @Windsor Cycle Hub

I\'m a founder member of a charity dedicated to getting more people in Windsor on bikes. I’m the trustee responsible marketing, in effect providing my professional services to Windsor Cycle Hub (WCH) on a pro-bono basis. This lets me give back to my community and it sharpens my marketing skills – as I need to communicate effectively with all sections of society.WCH’s weekly and special events, need to be promoted on social media and local print channels. Consistent branding of WCH’s facilities, and volunteers, has helped the charity establish a strong visible presence in our town. I’ve used my partnership experience to gain support from local businesses including Legoland Windsor, Windsor Racecourse and Frog Bikes. The positive role businesses can play in their local communities is something that we can all learn from, and I’m keen to share with others. Promoting WCH, has also helped me appreciate the impact that local government, landlords (like The Crown Estate) and law enforcement can have on the success of organisations. Strong relationships with national bodies, such as Cycling UK and Sustrans, have also been critical to WCH’s success.
