David\'s career path has seen several changes within the field of grit blasting and coating steel structures. City & Guilds in *painting and decorating* seemed to be the first challenge in life, followed by foreman/supervision accreditation as a natural progression. Following the path of *P&D, the industrial coatings and surface preparation route came as a matter of course and naturally inspection followed on from grit blasting and spraying activities. BGAS/CSWIP Level 2 accreditation, ICorr paint inspector levels 1, 2 & 3 then saw inspection, supervision and management work carried out on numerous projects throughout the UK, this was then followed by overall supervision/site management, contracts managerial roles and project Agent roles in rail and highways for both his past employer and current employer BAM Nuttall UK Ltd (part of the Royal BAM Group). yes that\'s two employers since 1981!Today; BAM UK & Ireland Materials Engineer / senior advisor for steel and coatings covering all of BAM Op Co’s both UK and Internationally.A submission to the Institute of Corrosions professional member scheme was accepted in July 2012 for the accolade MICorr. January 2013 saw a successful addition to David\'s portfolio in the way of CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspector 2018 / then renewed 2024. Fire Proofing Inspector Level 2 ICorr 2019 / renewed 2024 and Fellow FICorr of The Institute of Corrosion was awarded 2019. PCQI (Practitioner Chartered Quality Institute) in 2019.
