About David Hobbie
My mission is to enhance attorney effectiveness and efficiency through generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), data analytics, improved search, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. In the last three years, I have been focused on learning about and implementing GenAI as it changes and improves the practice and business of law. I am a leading educator to my firm\'s lawyers, staff, and clients about practical and responsible use of GenAI, and an innovator in how to bring these tools to bear on litigation workflows. I bring to bear a strong understanding of legal innovation, knowledge work, and information management, as well as years of experience as a practicing litigator.Speaking engagements include:\"KM Roundtable\"(Future of Document Management and Information Retrieval in age of GenAI), ILTACON 2025 (presenter and discussion leader), National Harbor, Maryland.\"Prompt Engineering is the Key to Unlocking the Potential of AI\": Donned tie for role as practicing lawyer on game-show formatted session, ILTACON 2024, Nashville, Tennessee.\"Data-Driven Success Stories\", ILTACON 2023, Orlando, Florida.A Picture Is Worth More Than a Thousand Words: Data Visualization Best Practices (moderator) ILTACON, August 29, 2016Visualizations At Goodwin Procter: Data, Insight & Action\" at the Ark Conference on Business Intelligence & Analytics In The Legal Profession, April 28, 2016, New York\"Beyond Financial Dashboards: Visualizations for Practice Improvement, Matter Analytics, and Business Development\" at the ILTACON 2015, Las Vegas.\"Client-Facing KM as Market Advantage: Founder\'s Workbench and Document Driver\" at Georgetown Law School / ABA conference \"From Revolution to Evolution - Digital Tools in Law Practice\"\"International practitioner case study: KM’s role in supporting pricing and budgeting\" and \"Panel Discussion: Social media and internal communication to drive innovation in law firms\" at the Ark Conference,\"Advancing Knowledge Management in the Legal Profession,\" held in Sydney, Australia, March 13, 2013\"Matter Management, Pricing and Profitability,” Panel at Ark Conference, New York, NY, October 25, 2012\"Dreams Can Come True: Email Management Success Stories,\" (panel moderator), ILTA Conference, August 24 2010.
