Hi I’m Dave Gurchiek host/creator of Academic Dean, a bi-weekly podcast for today\'s college leaders. As the host, I connect with passionate academic leaders who share their stories and viewpoints of higher education, especially lessons learned along the way. As a former college dean I bring broad-based leadership knowledge in higher education to conversations with my guests, providing significant depth on the topics being discussed. Additionally, I’m a search consultant with Myers McRae Executive Search and Consulting, assisting colleges and universities with their search needs for academic and administrative positions. Myers McRae has a well-respected and proven track record with the expertise, knowledge, and commitment to meet the recruitment needs of any higher education institution. Furthermore, I’m the founder of Gurchiek Consulting helping colleges and organizations with making positive change to their educational programs and improving program effectiveness. During my 25-year tenure in the Montana University System, I served as a college dean, associate dean, department chair (nursing, health, public safety), and faculty/program director. I developed a variety of degree programs, certificates, apprenticeships, workforce credentials and dual credit opportunities along with building 2+2 degree pathway options for universities. I worked with program advisory boards and listened to the needs of business and industry to achieve these accomplishments.
