Hello! My name is David Gregory Vallejo and I am double majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics at St. Mary\'s University, where I merge analytical problem-solving with a strong enthusiasm for sustainability and energy innovation. My goal is to design systems and technologies that make our built environment cleaner, more resilient, and more efficient for future generations.Throughout my studies, I have worked across disciplines, from circuit analysis,differential equations, and physics to create a strong foundation in sustainability solutions. I am specifically interested in how mechanical systems, materials, and data-driven modeling can minimize waste, optimize efficient use of energy, and prolong the life of infrastructures.Beyond academics, I have gained hands-on experience through research and student leadership. As an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, I have lead fundraising projects and coordinated large-scale events that enhance teamwork, project management, and real-world problem-solving. Topics I have presented on include AI in insurance and sustainable design, merging technology with communication to inspire others toward impact-driven engineering.It would be great to start a career working in an engineering team focused on sustainability: to help design renewable energy systems, enhance the efficiency of manufacturing processes, and develop environmentally responsible solutions serving both people and the planet.
