About David Freiman

Presently, I support the managing partner as well as the head of the corporate department/marquee partner. At previous firms, I supported a marquee partner, a managing partner and department heads for marketing and the investigators. Since 2003, I have chosen to work as a legal secretary after pursuing a career in the performing arts, as a senior software consultant and for a time as a solopreneur teaching yoga (in order to reduce stress and spend more time with my family.) In my previous and present roles, I have been relied upon to take on responsibilities and challenges that utilize my strong administrative, organizational, leadership and legal practice skills and knowledge. My technical software skills are top flight and I have always been relied upon to work with clients and executives throughout my career, even as a temp, honed by years as a software trainer and technical “explainer” between application developers and management at clients. I have applied these skills to “inside clients” as well. Though such jobs are fewer today, I am also interested in Corporate Trainer and Legal Trainer positions. I have kept up my technical skills in the usual legal software applications and I still provide deskside support to my coworkers even though I have not been in a classroom role for some time. I have always been selected for special assignments because I am self-motivated, thorough, and take ownership of projects. At Linklaters I was sent to London for training so I could administer the extranet. I was asked to onboard lateral hires with software training during the rapid growth of the New York office. At Labaton Sucharow I was the only secretary trusted to be responsible for updating reports in an Access database. At Golenbock I have been requested to work on PowerPoint presentations and I am one of two secretaries who is regularly asked to test new applications such as upgrades to LegalBar and TABS (time and billing) and piloting a recent network and MS Office upgrade. Going back to my temping days, I have long been the “go-to” guy in the office when other secretaries, attorneys and departments need software assistance. I am a quick study and typically train myself from the documentation on new software applications and features. I have also composed training materials with screenshots when staff needed to be informed of new features.
