ABOUT DAVID ELLIS
David Ellis is a strategic leader at the intersection of global affairs, energy, and communications. He is Executive Vice President, Policy Strategy, Partnerships and Outreach at the EFI Foundation and a senior adviser to CEO Ernest J. Moniz, the 13th Secretary of Energy. At the energy nonprofit, he draws upon his extensive experience leading organizations through transformation— whether developing innovative climate policy platforms, driving nonprofit impact, and managing high-performing media relations in Washington and London. Before founding EFI in 2017, Mr. Ellis was Chief Content Officer at CQ Roll Call (CQRC), overseeing 150 employees over five business units. Prior to his leadership role at CQRC, he was Editor at Large for Bloomberg News, commissioning features from Europe, Africa and Asia.While in London, he was Editor in Chief of Moneywise, the leading UK personal finance magazine, and a Special Section Editor at The Wall Street Journal Europe. Previously, he worked as a reporter for Time magazine and obtained an internship at The Economist in London.Mr. Ellis received his B.A. from Boston University and studied international relations at Trinity College, Dublin. He is a member of the National Press Club and the Association of Blacks in Energy. He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and the UK, and lives in Washington, D.C.
