ABOUT DAVIDE TOMMASO FERRANDO

I am an architecture critic, researcher and curator, particularly interested in the intersections between architecture, city and media. M.Arch in Advanced Architectural Design at ETSA Madrid and Ph.D in Architecture and Building Design at Politecnico di Torino, he is currently Research Fellow at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.Previously, I was Senior Scientist at the Department of Architectural Theory of the University of Innsbruck, and adjunct professor at Politecnico di Torino, Università di Ferrara and ETSA Madrid. I am an invited lecturer in universities such as Politecnico di Milano, IUAV Venezia, The Berlage Delft, Architectural Association London and University of Melbourne.Together with Daniel Tudor Munteanu, since 2016 I am the founder and curator of the Unfolding Pavilion: an expanding curatorial project that pops-up in the occasion of major architecture events. With Daniel I also am the curators of the 2022 edition of Beta - Timisoara Architecture Biennial, and of its main exhibition Another Breach in the Wall. Between 2009 and 2019, I am the editor of the platform 011+. Currently, I co-direct with Valerio Paolo Mosco the webzine Viceversa, and edit the curated archive Realismoutopico.My writings are published in magazines such as The Architectural Review, Log, Casabella, Bauwelt and Volume. I am the author of The City in the Image (Vibok Works, 2018) and Another Breach in the Wall (Solitude Project, 2022).
