About Dave Ferguson
After graduating from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Zoology I joined the ranks at Microsoft Corporation supporting the newly released Windows 3.0 operating system. A thirteen year career with the software maker lead me quickly to software development in Office, Hardware and Windows before my departure in 2003. I then co-founded Click Engineering Inc. in order to bring the solution design and development skills learned at Microsoft to the business community. The Click brand and book of business was sold in early 2010. The business was renamed Concipia and adjusted to focus on development of software solutions for business. The first solution explored has grown into its own entity, Gibberin Inc, focused on the Gibberin SpokenLoop messaging service combining the convenience of texting with the richness of voice. In 2017 I co-founded FloatMetrics developing hardware and software solutions around tracking location, environments and instrument data from boats, providing online analytics and services and allowing playback in a browser context. In 2019 an opportunity arose to work with Philips on the NFC features of their SonicCare toothbrush. Over the next few months I developed the hardware and software of a fixture to read, program and physically position NFC tags for testing toothbrush handle interactions. Currently I am working with Starbucks to update their drive thru display architecture and implementation. Since 2018 I have been teaching programming and technology at Lake Washington Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan. Specialties in software and hardware design and engineering include IoT, machine learning, web services, cloud design and API\'s.Specialties: End to end solution architecture, hardware design and engineering, firmware, API\'s, automation, IoT, machine learning, 3D design and printing, business process consulting, software development, web services, database design, network administration, network and web service security, Internet registration and hosting services management, SAAS, SOA design.
