REENA is a non-profit operator of services for those with Developmental Disabilities including Autism. It has the second largest long term care system in the Greater Toronto Area but also operates day programs, respite care, a credit course for staff through George Brown College.

David Cohen currently is an active volunteer, mainly in the Developmental Services Sector.Sitting on the Provincial Network for Developmental Services, David is active in ensuring quality care for our people and good treatment for employees. David is an Executive Board member of Reena, Chairing Governance and Nomination Committee, sitting on Executive Committee, Finance, Government Relations and our housing arm Reena Batay He was awarded a Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal. David Cohen has received recognition certificates from Character Community, Rotary, Carefirst Social Services. David is retiredDavid Cohen was an active elected Councillor in Richmond Hill from 1988 to 2010. While Councillor, David had many accomplishments. While Richmond Hill was the fastest growing municipality in Canada, it had many problems and David worked hard. As Budget Chair in 1993 he reversed a tide of double digit tax increases and froze property tax for ten years as Chair. As an example between 2003 when he left the position of chair and 2013, such tax rose in Richmond Hill by over 40%.David Cohen has been responsible to the Community. As Councillor, he served on Committees that built the main Library, the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts and built the Bayview Hill Community Centre to a standard that had other parts of Town envious. David chaired numerous committees. David was a Hydro Commissioner who supported selling the Hydro to Powerstream, and now having saved residents significant money with guaranteed lower power rates through the sale agreement.David Cohen helped organize several Seniors Day Programs and was a Champion of integrating ethnic communities in York Region. Today he is an active Rotarian, Chinese God of Fortune during Chinese New Year, developmental services champion.David continues to have success in the area\'s he is active.
