This includes all phases of an investigation from on-scene coordination, evidence gathering, fact finding, analysis of the facts, developing reports with impactful safety recommendations, and advocating for implementation of those recommendations.Serves as an Investigator-In-Charge or Group Chair in major passenger rail, freight rail, or transit rail accident investigations of derailments, train collisions, grade crossing collisions, and employee fatalities.Writes comprehensive accident reports that include facts, conditions, circumstances surrounding the accident, safety issue analyses and conclusions, and proposed recommendations, ensuring all pertinent safety issues are identified and addressed.Researches, reviews, and provides analysis of existing and proposed Federal legislation, regulations, and national industry standards or specifications pertaining to railroad transportation safety.
