At Core4ce, Mr. Bock is the Vice President of Strategic Development, where he is reunited with several members of previous leadership teams. Mr. Bock is responsible for turning new ideas at Core4ce into successfully executed business plans.Prior to joining Core4ce, Mr. Bock was the VP of Tech & Engineering Mission Support at Decisiv, where he was responsible for internal IT operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Quality Assurance, Security, Customer Service, and Release and Triage teams.Prior to joining Decisiv, Mr. Bock was the DevOps Services Area Lead at Excella Consulting.Previously, Mr. Bock was a Director of Engineering - Special Projects at Livingsocial where he helped manage a ~160 person engineering team.From 20••••15, he was a co-founder and principal consultant at CodeSherpas. Mr. Bock managed the 9-person consulting firm and worked with clients to help solve business problems through the development of custom software. In particular, he leveraged his expertise in backoffice workflow automation to tame complex business processes.Mr Bock is active in local developer communities organizing and regularly speaking at many use groups. Mr. Bock served as the President of the NoVaJUG from Oct. to Feb. Mr. Bock is also a co-founder of the RubyNation conference, and serves on its Board of Organizers.In January 2006, David was awarded the title of Java Champion in a program sponsored by Sun. The program continues under Oracle\'s MVP program.David served as the Editor of O\'Reilly\'s OnJava.com website, has been published in several books and magazines, and frequently speaks on technology & team processes at software conferences. He has served on several JCP panels, including JSR-270, the Specification of the Java 6 Platform.At a previous employer, David served as the Chief Architect of the Export Control Program with the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Fund / U.S. Department of State, where he was responsible for the development of software tracking the licensing and shipment of nuclear, chemical, and biological material, and for software used by the U.N. for tracking removal of landmines.Mr. Bock maintains several popular open source projects, available on Github.
