ABOUT DAVID CHANEY

Urban Planner with post-graduate experience currently working at Translink on the Transit Network Development team, as of the end of April 2024. Previously at the City of Vancouver working to support policy development and implementation of the Climate Emergency Action Plan and Housing Vancouver. Graduate of McGill University\'s Master of Urban Planning program, with a concentration in Urban Development and Urban Design. Experiences: · Developing and implementing policies to deliver the City\'s Climate Emergency Action Plan. · Developed and implemented policies to deliver the City\'s ‘Housing Vancouver’ Plan. · Researched Airbnb’s impact on several housing markets with quantitative datasets, data mapping, literature review, stakeholder interviews, and regulatory policy analysis. · Developed sustainable development and economic diversification strategies in a master planning context for Mont-Tremblant. · Organized and led volunteers for the Car Free Day Vancouver festival that celebrates active transportation and public space. · Conducted customer-service, digital media guidance, information management, and improved processes in public service organizations.
