I’m the CEO of Ackerman Consulting Group (ACG), a fiber engineering and broadband consulting firm focused on rural and tribal networks.We spend most of our time working with tribes, cooperatives, and network operators on planning, designing, and deploying fiber infrastructure. A lot of the work sits in the gap between engineering, funding, and real-world execution—where projects tend to get complicated.ACG is intentionally a smaller, high-touch firm. Our clients work directly with experienced engineers and leadership, and we stay involved from early planning through deployment. That structure has worked well for the types of projects we take on, particularly where quality and accountability matter.Our work includes:• Fiber network engineering and OSP design• Broadband planning and feasibility• Federal and state funding support (ReConnect, NTIA, TBCP, BEAD)• Construction support• Network and operational planningWe’ve been fortunate to support a range of rural and tribal projects, many of which involve complex builds and funding requirements.
