ABOUT DAVID HANSEN

I am a passionate and experienced leader in enterprise sales for Microsoft, dedicated to empowering people and organizations with technology for all.As the Enterprise Public Sector Sales Manager at Microsoft Norway, I lead a unit of account executives and strategic technology advisors operating in industry-vertical teams, responsible for national government institutions and agencies, and public sector industries like health, defence, police and justice, as well as critical infrastructure industries such as transport & logistics and power & utilities.My background in government and elected office, public affairs consultancy, and civil society-based advocacy has shaped my vision of using technology and innovation as a force for sound change and good governance. I hold a Master of Laws (L.LM.) from the University of Oslo, Norway, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Hult International Business School in London, UK. Before joining Microsoft in 2017, I worked as Director of Governmental Relations for Telenor Norway, Account Director in Public Affairs and Practice Director of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Gambit Hill & Knowlton Strategies, Director at Civita - a liberal think tank, and Political Advisor to the Minister of International Development (Ms. Hilde F. Johnson) in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I have also held city and county councilor roles in the City of Oslo, the County of Østfold as wel as the municipality of Halden - where I grew up.Besides my role at Microsoft, I serve on the boards of several commercial enterprises and nonprofits. This includes Gudbransdal Energy Holding, which is engaged in renewable energy production and grid management. As the chair of the board for the Mission Alliance, I am part of a development organisation that combats poverty and injustice by providing financial and value-creating resources to individuals, communities, banks, and businesses. Together, we are dedicated to promoting the vision of ‘on earth as in heaven’ - a world where dignity and opportunity are not mere ideals, but a reality we actively pursue for everyone.I am always eager to learn new things and expand my network.
