Mr. White is Executive Director of the Virginia Maritime Association (VMA), where he has been employed since 2003. Since 1920, VMA has been promoting, protecting, and encouraging commerce through Virginia’s dynamic ports, and the associated maritime industries and supply chains. With a membership of over 450 companies, the VMA is widely recognized as “The Voice of Port Industries.” Mr. White also serves as the Executive Vice President of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association; whose purpose is to negotiate and maintain the collective bargaining agreement with the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA).Representing these interests, Mr. White actively participates in the following organizations:> National Association of Maritime Organizations – Secretary & Treasurer> Virginia Freight Advisory Committee - Chairman> Virginia Harbor Safety Committee – Immediate Past Chairman> Virginia Economic Development Partnership Authority, Advisory Committee on International Trade – Member by Appointment> Elizabeth River Project – Board Member> Hampton Roads Business Roundtable - MemberMr. White is an alumnus of the College of William & Mary and in 2020 he was named to the inaugural Virginia 500 Power List, which showcases the commonwealth\'s most influential leaders. In 2022 he was presented the Meritorious Public Service Award from the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. His treasures are his lovely wife and three daughters.
