I work for Element which are UKAS accredited to ISO 17020 to provide- Management Surveys- Refurbishment Surveys- Demolition Surveys- Re-Inspection SurveysElement can also assist with the procurement of asbestos removal services through;• Writing technical asbestos specifications for proposed asbestos works.• Tendering the asbestos removal work to 3-5 asbestos removal contractors in accordance with the technical asbestos specification.• Attending and escorting bidders around the site• Responding to clarifications • Review of bids and recommendation for selection• Attending pre-start and stakeholder meetings These services would be provided by one of our Project Managers who have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in asbestos testing and inspection.Element holds UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation for the air monitoring and analytical activities it undertakes. All of our consultants are qualified to BOHS P403 and P404, and are regularly audited to ensure consistently high standards of service. Asbestos testing is conducted in accordance with HSG 248 and our in-house procedures. Air monitoring certificates are generated on-site.Element’s airborne fibre sampling tests include:• Compliance monitoring• Background sampling • Leak (enclosure check) sampling • Clearance Indicator sampling • Reassurance sampling • Assessment of the suitability of respirator protectionElement’s air monitoring analysts’ duties include:• Air monitoring associated with the asbestos removal i.e. background tests before and during sheeting up of the area, leak testing during asbestos removal and clearance testing following asbestos removal.• Smoke testing of enclosure prior to removal works commencing • The 4-stage clearance procedure to include the visual inspection to ensure all asbestos has been removed to a satisfactory standard prior to the clearance test. Where access scaffold forms an integral part of the enclosure, then this will be included in the 4-stage clearance process.• The checking of all contractors’ equipment to ensure that they are within service and maintenance dates and all operative records are available to ensure that they are trained for the works they are undertaking and that all medical inspections are on date.Air testing certificates and documented evidence, which provide a full audit trail for the works, is maintained throughout the duration of the project and is ultimately presented as a ProjectCompletion Pack.Please let me know if you have any questions.
