Degree in metallurgy, familiar with design, upgrading and testing industrial vehicles, generators and pumping equipment, wide experience of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls and system interaction.I have a questioning nature and have a constant desire to understand how things work and how they can be improved. Between 20••••22 I worked on development and ongoing maintenance of the designs of thermal diesel/ natural gas machines between 200kW and 1.5MW and also MW sized containerised BESS Battery Energy Storage Systems for frequency stabilisation and peak load shaving.Since Nov 2022 as Engineering Manager for CPR, this is a long established firm offering specialist repair and overhaul for LNG and other cryogenic pumps. These pumps are located in terminals, refineries and on ships such as LNG carriers and FSRUs. Activities include preparation for overhaul, spare parts specification and quality, project and technical support for the attending engineers and controlling repairs and rework including rewinds and shaft replacement and rotor re-lamination. We regularly work with customers and service centres on RCA fault analysis using SCADA or portable telemetry tools, machine strip, we conduct component failure analysis including metallurgical examination and CFD/ FEA. Failed components are replaced using 3D scanned rapid prototyped components where appropriate with design improvements to reduce re-occurrences of failure.
