ABOUT DAVID WARNE

David Warne, BES BArch OAA is a professional artist, architect and parametric designer. He is best known for award-winning designs that solving challenges with savvy creativity- McEwan School of Architecture, Sudbury- Kitchener Public Library Central Branch- Waterloo School of Architecture & Riverside Design Gallery- Bridgenorth Library & Community Hall- Sunnyside Seniors Housing, KitchenerThe McEwan School of Architecture (OAA Award of Excellence 2018) is the first new school of architecture in Canada in 40 years. David\'s vision was to create a \"Living Architecture Lab\" to embodied principles of Sustainable Design in the North. It is both an inspiring collaborative space and a teaching tool. David is thrilled to be the design architect on the Kitchener Public Library (2016 OLA Design Award), having grown up in Kitchener. The building is a $50M LEED Gold addition/renovation, that was inspired by the rhythm and colour of books on a shelf and embodied by an advance curtain wall system lit by programmable LED light system.David is particularly proud of the Bridgenorth Library and Community Centre (2010 WoodWorks! Award), where despite the project’s tight budget, he was able to invent a system to expose the wood structure, and win a WoodWorks! award.David\'s current interest in Parametric Design and software solutions has led to the invention of an iOS App for Realestate Developers to analyse the yield of a site in an instant. This led to a collaboration with the new startup modular company Z Modular, where he is now leading the Design Department.
