ABOUT DAVID WANNER

I did what most of my friends and family did in my small town: working for my dad. During that time I successfully completed a 4 years comprehensive apprenticeship.• I acquired a strong foundation to think before I act while using logic and methodology to ensure success. At 18, I moved to Canada, became a lead journeyman, team leader, and finally shop foreman.• I aquired leadership, management, ambition, dedication, teamwork, and curiosity. In early this journey took me to a new career in the death care industry in the largest Canadian own company. Well, let’s say life sometimes has a funny way to help you unleash your full potential. My first job was to sell cemetery and funeral goods and services to clients in perfect health. The learning curve was, shall we say, steep. I quickly became the # 1 salesperson at my office and on the top 30 best in the company of about 600 salespersons. • I acquired courage, audacity, relentlessness, confidence, communication skills, storytelling, authenticity, love and compassion, goal setting, salesmanship, and competitiveness. My corporate ascension started quickly while I took on more roles and responsibilities. I became a trainer, divisional manager, assistant manager, sales manager and finally a branch manager in a large cemetery where I received many awards and accolades• I acquired passion, enthusiasm, effective leadership, superior communication, the art of influencing, politicizing, strategizing, and problem-solving.After 8 years in upper management, I opened my own consulting business.• I acquired entrepreneurship, patience, humility, resilience, and independence. After a few years on my own, I was headhunted by the largest funeral company in the world. My role was to rise/surpass the quota while reviving and adjusting problematic environments and toxic climates. That era culminated when I managed the largest cemetery and funeral home complex in Canada being one of the largest and most successful in North America.• I acquired a new level of self-actualization and personal growth, conflict management, patience, diligence, purpose, and active listening. My entrepreneurship button triggered, and I opened a new corporation. I also decided to continue my quest for self-discovery by becoming a Cognitive behavioral therapy practitioner and developing new ways to promote wellbeing around me.• I acquired transcendence, powerful questioning, empathy, creating psychological safety, gratitude, optimism, and appreciation for values and strength.
