   Support projects in aerospace business unit-work closely with ceramics, glass, metals, and polymers Proficient in powder production (various different milling processes) as well as paste/slurry formulation for high temperature/high pressure ceramic coatings-closely monitored particle size distribution and use understanding of rheology to produce paste of specific viscosityProficient in screen printing for thick film deposition of dense/porous coatings onto ceramic substrates as well as utilizing other coating techniques (doctor blade, aerosol spray) for coating along contoured surfaces Operate box, tube, cyclic, vacuum, and hot isostatic press furnaces for curing and sintering of ceramic coatings Proficient in electrophoresis and plating metallic coatings onto metallic composites - have developed and demonstrated electroplated wear-resistant coatings both on small test panels as well as real customer parts (from small 10L beaker size up to large 160 gallon plating tanks). Help developed bath chemistry, studied additives and developed shielding that achieve a uniform thickness throughout a complex part. Studied and monitored bath life, as well as optimize plating parameters (bath temperature, surfactants, different agitation systems, current density, bath pH, etc.) Standard coating characterization/testing-lab shear tests, micro hardness tests, softening point, adhesion tests, corrosion tests, steam shock cycling, and heat shock cycling Proficient with standard materials characterization - prepare SEM samples, conducting SEM along with EDS, XRF, XRD, TGA, PSD, dilatometry, etc. Fabricated high temperature refractory for furnace furniture (boats, test tube holders, stages) Attend HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) meetings weekly to discuss/remind employees of how to react during hazardous situations and proper care of laboratories, as well as how to safely transport and handle hazardous chemicals on and off site
