About David W Shaw
I\'m passionate about the world\'s remaining wild places and creatures. With both an undergraduate and masters degree in wildlife biology I come at photography, writing, and wilderness travel with a unique and engaging perspective. By blending science, natural history, and adventure into my images and words, I create engaging stories for the conservation community, natural history and photography publications, and the outdoor industry. I\'ve travelled across the planet from Alaska to Antarctica and leave bits of my heart in the wild places I visit. I have a particular passion for Alaska\'s Brooks Range, and the rich tropical forests of the Americas. It\'s a strange combination, but I fell in love with tropical rain forest during various research and birding expeditions and the wild Brooks Range, though vastly different is, in my opinion, the most beautiful range of mountains in the world. When it comes to adventurous photography and writing assignments, there are few as passionate and skilled. Those that travel with me feel the same way. As one client recently put it,\"Dave is a big bear of a guide who inspires utter confidence.\" I\'ll take that as a compliment. Additionally, I arrange birding and natural history tours in Alaska and Latin America and am available as a personal guide or to arrange custom photography and natural history travel.
