ABOUT DAVID W. ADAMS

Senior healthcare executive with broad experience in managed care, including payers, providers, specialty benefits management programs and value-based care initiatives. Areas of expertise include medical utilization management and provider contracting strategy for health plans; managed care revenue and payer strategy for providers; and P&L ownership including designing and scaling central operations for a specialty benefits management vendor. Currently advising companies regarding value-based care strategy, operations and managed care performance. Recently served as Senior Vice President of Payer Contracting and Relations for Help at Home. Has served as a strategic advisor to numerous organizations and private equity firms. As a member of the executive leadership team at naviHealth, brought the company to acquisition by UnitedHealth Group’s Optum organization. In the role at naviHealth, served as President of Central Operations, leading corporate and clinical operations, enterprise program management, and provider strategy and engagement. Previously, served as Senior Vice President of Managed Care for U.S. Renal Care, holding enterprise-wide responsibility for revenue strategy, contracting, and relationships with all health plan payers, and was a member of the executive team which successfully completed a recapitalization. Other leadership roles held at Humana, EmblemHealth, and WellCare Health Plans.Holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia and an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
